Making Objects Appear and Disappear

The visibility property allows you to tell an object whether to appear (visible) or not (hidden) on the screen (see "Setting the Visibility of an Element" in Chapter 9). Using JavaScript, you can not only determine the current visibility state (see "Finding an Object's Visibility State" in Chapter 12), but also change the state back and forth (Code 13.1 and Figures 13.1 and 13.2).

Code 13.1. The setVisibility() and toggleVisibility() functions change the visibility state of a particular object in the browser window.
