Passing an Event to a Function

All events (see "Detecting an Event" in Chapter 11) in the browser window generate certain information about what occurred, where it occurred, and how it occurred (Figure 14.2). You can pass this information directly to a JavaScript function so that it can access the object without having to create a cross-browser DOM (Code 14.2).

Figure 14.2. When the image of the lizard is clicked, an alert appears, letting you know that an [object] has been detected.
