Inheriting Properties from a Parent

No, this is not the Visual QuickStart Guide to Real Estate. All HTML tags that can be controlled with CSS, except the <body> tag, have a parent—a container tag that surrounds it.

HTML tags generally assume the styles of any tags that are nested within their parent. This is called inheritance of styles. A color set for the <body> tag, for example, will be used as the color for all tags in the body (Code 2.15 and Figures 2.27 and 2.28).
