17.5. zoom Property

The zoom property is an Internet Explorer-only property, instituted beginning with version 5.5, which sets the magnification level for an element. This property is designed primarily for dynamic use in order to change the size of an element being displayed. Using zoom, you can make objects more or less visible depending on the circumstance.

zoom can take one of three possible values: the named value normal, a numeric value and an integer value. The normal value is the default, and objects are displayed at their intrinsic, normal size. Using either a numeric or percentage value with zoom you can change the magnification level of an object; a numeric value of 1 is considered equivalent to normal, as is a percentage value of 100%.
