Chapter 10. Text Properties > line-break Property

10.14. line-break Property

The line-break property is a CSS3 property designed to be applied primarily to Chinese, Japanese and Korean (CJK) character sets. This property sets the type of line-breaking rule to be applied to text. It has four values: normal and strict, plus the usual initial and inherit values. The normal value (which is the default) sets the normal line-breaking mode for CJK characters, which is typically between any small katakana or hiragana characters that may appear on a line. When the strict value is used, these same small katakana or hiragana characters are not used to start a line of text. The initial value sets the property to its default value, and the inherit value tells the browser to take whatever parent value may be available for the property.
