8.9. resolution Media Query

The resolution media feature is applicable to bitmap media types and can accept the min- and max- prefixes.

This media feature is used to describe the density of the pixels used for displaying content. Many computer printers, for example, have print resolutions between 300 – 1200 dots per inch (dpi), whereas a typical monitor displays its content at a considerably lower 72 dpi.
