Chapter 13. Color > color-profile Property

13.5. color-profile Property

There are some cases where you might want to use a specific color profile that goes beyond what the rendering-intent property can deliver. That's where the color-profile property comes in. It allows the Web author to set a color profile based on information, or force the display device to use an sRGB format.

This property takes one of four values: auto, sRGB, a URL value and inherit. The auto value is the default, which is assumed to be an sRGB format — which is the standard color format for most major computing platforms. The specific sRGB value is there in case the device is not sRGB-based, allowing the Web author to force the device to try and use this format. The URL value allows you to point to an external ICC color profile configuration file. The inherit value takes on any parent value that may have already been set.
