Chapter 9. Troubleshooting Your ColdFusi... > Using ColdFusion Studio's Debugging ...

Using ColdFusion Studio's Debugging Features

If you use ColdFusion Studio to do your ColdFusion development, you'll find a number of built-in Studio features that can help during debugging. To use these helpful features, you must first have a Remote Development Service (RDS) connection set up with your server. To do this, follow these steps:

1.
Go to the Database tab on the ColdFusion Studio Resources tab.

2.
Choose the Add RDS Server option from the drop-down list at the top of the Database tab.

3.
Enter a name for the RDS server, your server's host name or IP address, and your ColdFusion Studio username and password (see Figure 9.18). The password is set up when you first install ColdFusion.

Figure 9.18. A Remote Development Service connection allows you to inspect data sources and use ColdFusion Studio's debugging features.

4.
Enable SSL if you want your RDS connection to be encrypted.

5.
Enter a different port number if you are not running HTTP services on port 80.

6.
Click OK.
