Updating Existing Database Records

When you have records in a database, you'll invariably need to make changes in them from time to time. Updating records in a Web-based database is a three-step process:

1.
Allow the user to choose the record that needs to be modified.

2.
Display the contents of the chosen record in an HTML form. By doing so, you let the user see what's in the record and make any necessary changes.

3.
Use an SQL UPDATE statement to commit the changes to the database.
