What's Next

This chapter showed you how to build an electronic commerce site using a session variable–based shopping cart. You saw how to set up a catalog that allows customers to browse through the products you have for sale. You learned how to let customers specify the quantities for products they want and how to add that information to their shopping carts. You constructed a checkout page where customers finalize the contents of their carts by changing quantities or removing items. Finally, you collected shipping and credit card information from your customers and submitted the purchase to a merchant services provider for processing.

This is also the final chapter in the book. You will find two appendices just beyond this chapter that can help jog your memory when you're trying to recall a certain attribute of a CFML tag or the proper syntax of a CFML function. Appendix A, “ColdFusion Markup Language Tag Reference,” summarizes the tags discussed in the book and their attributes and syntax. Appendix B, “ColdFusion Markup Language Functions,” does the same for the CFML functions you learned about throughout the book.
