Designing the Database

The relational database for the corporate directory case study is fairly simple. It is made up of two tables named Employees and Departments. Both tables and the relationship between them are shown in Figure 14.1.

Figure 14.1. The DepartmentID foreign key field in the Employees table relates employees to their respective departments.
