Understanding Structured Error Handling

As useful as <CFERROR> is in creating more visually appealing error messages, it still has one serious limitation: ColdFusion's standard response to an error is aborting further processing, whether or not default or custom error screens are used. <CFERROR> doesn't change how ColdFusion responds to error conditions; all it does is change the display generated after processing is halted.
