Part II: Security > Integration with NOS Security

Chapter 8. Integration with NOS Security

In this chapter

Adding User Directories

Adding a User Directory to an Existing Security Context

Modifying a Policy

Using Multiple Domains and Managing Policies

Heretofore, the security discussions have dealt mostly with LDAP directories. ColdFusion's security services also tightly integrate with Windows NT network operating system security, making it easy to match permissions already granted to users in your domain to ColdFusion security contexts. In this chapter you work with a user domain and give security access permissions to members of this domain. You also modify your SuperGadgets application created in Chapter 6, "The User Authentication Framework," to use Windows NT domain user lists.

It is assumed that you already know the basics of managing a Windows NT domain and that you have configured your own domains for your network. For a detailed discussion on managing Windows NT domains, try Special Edition Using Windows NT Server 4, Second Edition, by Roger Jennings, available from Que.
