Part V: Appendixes >  <CFIF>, <CFELSEIF>, <CFELSE>, </CFIF>

<CFIF>, <CFELSEIF>, <CFELSE>, </CFIF>

Description: The <CFIF> set of tags are what allow you to create conditional CFML code. <CFIF> and its supporting tags (<CFELSEIF>, <CFELSE>, and </CFIF>) will likely be the tags your use most in your applications.

Every <CFIF> tag must have a matching </CFIF> tag. The <CFELSEIF> and <CFELSE> tags are entirely optional. You may use as many <CFELSEIF> tags as needed in a <CFIF> statement, but only one <CFELSE>. <CFELSE> must always be the last compare performed if it is used.
