Integrating with Office Applications

All of the major applications in Microsoft's Office 97 suite—Word 97, Excel 97, and so on—can be automated with a stripped-down version of Visual Basic called Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Programming in VBA can be very similar to programming in normal Visual Basic or VBScript, except that you have access to various objects, properties, and methods of the actual Office applications. You can use COM objects in VBA code, which means that you can use the WDDX Serializer, WDDX Deserializer, and other WDDX-related goodies from the wddx_com.dll COM object that Allaire supplies.
