Acknowledgments - Pg. xiii

xiii Acknowledgments Ben Forta This book was created in response to the requests of readers of my first ColdFusion book, The ColdFusion 4.0 Web Application Construction Kit--you know who you are. And so, first and fore- most, I must thank you all for the inspiration. I hope this is what you were looking for. Thanks to everyone at Macmillan Computer Publishing for making this book a reality. In particular, special thanks to my Acquisitions Editor, Angela Kozlowski, for all her time, patience, advice; for not letting things fall through the cracks; and for keeping us authors on some semblance of a schedule (no easy task at all). This book is my fourth collaboration with Angela, and the word collaboration is not an exaggeration. We could not have done it (neither this book, nor the previous ones) without her. Thanks to my coauthors--Jonathan Bellack, Ashley King, Gerry Libertelli, Mike Dinowitz, and Nate Weiss--for their outstanding contributions. This book is as much theirs as it is mine. Thanks to everyone at Allaire for all their hard work creating ColdFusion 4. The Internet application development community is indebted to you all. In particular, thanks to Jeremy Allaire, Tom Colutti, Seth Horan, Jack Lull, Patrick Muzila, Randy Nielsen, Steve Penella, and Sim Simeonov for the support they gave the authors and editors as this book evolved. The accompanying CD-ROM contains a collection of some of the best ColdFusion add-on tags and utilities I have found. In addition to serving as examples of what ColdFusion can do, these tags will be of great value to all ColdFusion developers. A special thank you to all the developers who con- tributed tags. Unfortunately, there are too many of them to thank individually, but full credit is given in the documentation on the CD-ROM. If you find any of these tags or utilities useful, I urge you to email the developers directly to thank them. A special thank you to my parents, Arye and Chana Forta, for all they have done for me over the years, including imparting values by example, encouraging my independence, teaching me to think, and imbuing me with a love for books. Me, an author...I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree after all. And most importantly, even though she insists there is no need for me to thank her publicly again, I must thank my wonderful wife Marcy. Anything I am, anything I have become, and anything I will be, is thanks to her. Marcy, for all your encouragement, sacrifices, support, love, and so much more, thank you.
