Generating SMTP Mail

Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) is the standard method of sending and receiving email over the Internet. Post Office Protocol (POP) is the standard method of retrieving mail from an email server. SMTP involves the use of client and server software. When you want to get your mail, you use your client software to log into a POP server and download the mail. When you send mail, you post your message to your SMTP server, which sends it to the intended destination.
