Using Web Services

To use web services in your ColdFusion application, you register the web service in Dreamweaver’s Components panel, insert the CFML code into your ColdFusion page or component, and then modify the code so that the proper argument values are specified for the web service.

In the CFML code, you use the CFINVOKE and CFINVOKEARGUMENT tags to call web service functions and return the response. You can actually think of calling web services as invoking a ColdFusion component function. Only the component attribute is changed to a web service URL for a remote WSDL file, as the following example shows:
