Building confirmUpdate.cfm

The confirmUpdate.cfm page displays the information that the user updated in updateRecord.cfm. In updateRecord.cfm, you created a FORM tag that uses the POST method. In confirmUpdate.cfm, you will display the form variable values in the page. The user can see the information that he or she entered and confirm that the updated information is accurate before saving it to the database.

In addition, the confirmUpdate.cfm page contains the Update Record server behavior, which actually updates the database record. To use the Update Record server behavior, you must create placeholders using hidden form fields to store the updated data in the page. Figure 12.11 shows what the completed page will look like in Dreamweaver.
