Deleting Records

The records in the database are the heart of a dynamic web site, so letting users delete records on the server should make you nervous. You must carefully plan what users would want to delete. Proper security measures, such as role-based security, must be applied. For more information about building secure ColdFusion applications, see Chapter 17, “Building User Authentication.”

In ColdFusion applications, user information is stored on the server as records in databases, such as username, password, name, email address, and so on. In previous chapters, you learned how to create and update records. The final piece to the database puzzle, deleting records, uses the Delete Record server behavior to generate the necessary CFML.
