Part VII: Customizing Dreamweaver > Building Custom Server Behaviors

Chapter 23. Building Custom Server Behaviors

In this chapter, you will learn the basics of building custom Dreamweaver server behaviors. Custom server behaviors are intended to provide a way to extend Dreamweaver’s prebuilt set of server behaviors with creations of your own. When you find yourself performing the same coding tasks over and over again, you might be able to automate some of the work by creating a server behavior designed for a specific task.

You can build custom server behaviors to serve a wide variety of purposes, such as a CFML code block that sends email or returns the names of files in a directory. You can also let other people use the server behaviors that you build by just packaging up a few files.
