About Building Custom Server Behaviors

As you gain experience developing ColdFusion applications with Dreamweaver, you might find yourself repeating the same tasks again and again. As you learned in Chapter 19, “Using ColdFusion Components,” and Chapter 7, “Validating Data and Handling Errors,” ColdFusion provides a number of ways to reuse code, including ColdFusion components and user-defined functions (UDFs).

Dreamweaver also includes features for building new tags and tag libraries, creating custom commands, and creating code snippets for simple blocks of code. Also, you can leverage the Dreamweaver architecture to build custom behaviors that insert multiple code blocks with interactive dialogs for entering parameters.
