Notes About the Framework Files

Throughout this book, we refer to the “core file” (or occasionally the “core”). The core file is the file available from fusebox.org that contains the code that sets up the Fusebox framework with each page request. Some people think of it as “the Fusebox,” but a more apt phrase might be: “the engine that drives Fusebox.”

The filename of this engine varies depending on the version of Fusebox, the version of ColdFusion, and which operating system is running. Versions are optimized for different ColdFusion versions from 4.0 through 5 in both Windows and UNIX-based operating systems. There are currently no core files for any ColdFusion versions prior to 4.0. At the time of this printing, Fusebox is in version 3.0 and the core files are as follows:
