Understanding ColdFusion Structures

Like lists, ColdFusion structures are special variables that can hold more than one chunk of data at a time. Unlike lists, structures have the capability to package pairs of related data.

When I package or read variable data from a list, I use functions to reference each list item by its offset number, say to add a new list item at position 10, or to retrieve the value of list item 7. Structures handle this differently. Instead of using a number to find a certain chunk of data, they use keys. Keys are user-definable, just like variables.
