Summary

As you've been building your own templates according to the lessons in this book, it's very likely that you've come across several of ColdFusion's unique error messages. Today's chapter assumed that you've now familiarized yourself with the various components of a ColdFusion application described in previous lessons, and showed you how to troubleshoot them.

One of the most important steps in fixing an error is identifying which component is reporting trouble. Web servers often report errors when pages aren't found or URLs are invalid; ColdFusion Server displays errors when it doesn't understand something in your template's code, and your ODBC driver will complain if it encounters an SQL statement it doesn't understand.
