Using Application.cfm

The key to all of this high-tech magic is a special template file called Application.cfm that resides in a folder along with your application's templates and subfolders. Application.cfm is a lot like the .ini files used by many Windows applications, or the .conf files familiar to users of UNIX-based operating systems. It defines a set of parameters to be used throughout your application, including

  • The name of your application

  • Default variable values

  • Custom error pages

  • Data sources

  • Default style settings

  • Security settings
