Q&A

Q1:Why don't my bold headers show up in a <CFTABLE>?
A1: By default, <CFTABLE> creates your table with the <PRE> tag, which doesn't recognized bolded text. To use bold headers, add the HTMLTABLE parameter to <CFTABLE> to build your table in HTML 3.0.
Q2:Can I use graphics in a <CFTABLE>?
A2: Yes, if you add the HTMLTABLE parameter. The easiest way to add graphics is to create a field in your database that lists the link path to the graphic. When you run a query, ColdFusion will return the link as one of your variables, which can then be added to a <CFTABLE>.
Q3:I used HTML tables with <CFOUTPUT>and now my table doesn't display at all. What should I do?
A3: Go through your table code line-by-line and pay careful attention to what appears within and without the <CFOUTPUT> tag. Errors often come from unclosed <TD> or <TR> tags, or even an unclosed <TABLE>.
Q4:I used the GROUPparameter in a <CFOUTPUT>section. ColdFusion created groups, but there are several groups of the same type and only one record per group.
A4: This happens when you don't use the ORDER BY clause in your template's query. ColdFusion will group records with a common field, but only if it receives them ordered by that field.
