Making Long Pages Accessible with Index Links

My "8tracks" table has only three condition types: "poor", "passable", and "excellent". This makes it an ideal candidate for a simple grouped page, but what if my database housed hundreds of records and had 10 or more condition types? A grouped page would certainly help organize things, but a user would still have to do quite a bit of scrolling to get to the group he or she wants to see.

To increase accessibility on lengthy pages, I can use a trick that has been available to HTML developers since the very early days of the Web: page indices or anchors. Page anchors allow the developer to place a list of topics at the top of a document, and to make each topic name a link to text further down the page.
