Q&A

Q1:I'm migrating an HTML-only site to ColdFusion. Should I go through my pages and upgrade all my <FORM>tags to <CFFORM>and put them on template pages?
A1: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The advantage to keeping your existing HTML forms is that they don't require Java and are consequently faster-loading and foolproof for all users. However, if you find a form that might benefit from the enhanced features of <CFFORM>, go for it.
Q2:What if my site is targeted to a user base that doesn't use Java-compatible browsers?
A2: You can supply alternative HTML-only forms to non-Java users by customizing the error message in the NotSUPPORTED parameter of <CFFORM> sections.
Q3:If I'm an experienced JavaScript programmer, can I customize the behavior of <CFFORM>tags?
A3: Yes. <CFFORM> tags enable you to specify JavaScript functions that run when certain actions occur, such as a successful or failed validation.
