Day 6. Creating Your First Web Application > Creating and Sharing Folders

Creating and Sharing Folders

In your Webserver directory structure, you now create a directory called gargantuan that will house all of this client's files. You must put the database file in a permanent spot before defining it as a datasource, so you create a subfolder of gargantuan called odbc and place the file inside it.

Tip

As with any Web site, it's always a good idea to arrange ColdFusion files in the same way they will appear on your client's server. During the development phase, if you place the client's database in a folder called odbc and pictures in a folder called images, the remote server should mirror this structure exactly.
