Creating Stored Procedures

This chapter will introduce you to stored procedures, which is a relatively advanced featured supported by most server-based database systems. A stored procedure is a chunk of SQL code that's given a name and stored as a part of your database, along with your actual data tables. You can think stored procedures as the database equivalent of Custom Tags, as discussed in Chapter 20. After a stored procedure has been created, you can invoke it in your ColdFusion templates using the <CFSTOREDPROC> tag.
