ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Thanks to my co-authors, Nate Weiss, Leon Chalnick, and Angela Baraglia for their outstanding contributions—although this book is now affectionately known by thousands as “the Ben Forta book”, it is, in truth, as much theirs as it is mine. Thanks to my new Macromedia Press family for making me feel so welcome, and for granting me the creative freedom needed to create titles like these. Thanks to the thousands of you who write to me with comments, suggestions, and criticism (thankfully not too much of the latter)—I do read each and every message (and even attempt to reply to them all, eventually) and all are appreciated. A very special thank you to my acquisitions editor, Angela Kozlowski, who has been my advisor, slave-driver, partner, scheduling department, and muse since I published my first book way back when. And last, but by no means least, a heartfelt thank you to my wife Marcy for so many years of love, support, and encouragement – her tireless and selfless work make it possible for me to do what I do, it is she who deserves the real credit for all I have accomplished, and I would not be where I am today without her.—Ben Forta

Showers of thanks to my writing companions and sources of inspiration, specifically Stephanie Hawkins, Ben Forta, Jeanmarie Williams, and the Clinton Four (Matthew Gershoff, Jenny Lee Turner, and Stanley Williams). Influences include Sleater-Kinney, the Cocteau Twins, Patience, Fortitude, and the majestic Rose Reading Room at the Forty-Second Street Public Library in New York City, capital of the world. A huge shout out and general mad, frenzied thanks to Angela Kozlowski and everyone else at Peachpit who helped us deliver this book. Also, big ups to John “Giant Sandwich” Scott and Melissa “Press Nine” Caruso for giving me a home for a while there. Of course, I've just gotta name-check everyone at Macromedia that helped contribute to the quality of this edition, either directly or indirectly (especially, but of course not limited to, Jeremy Allaire, Camille Batarekh, Tim Buntel, Ray Camden, Damon Cooper, John Fisher, Tom Harwood, Peter Muzilla, Sim Simeonov, Edwin Smith, Peter Watson, and Spike Washburn). Finally, thanks to Mom, Dad, Liz, Ken, Carrie, Gigi, Don, Judith, Robin, and Cousin Sarah, and yes, there will be a quiz.—Nate Weiss

I would like to acknowledge the contribution of Muliadi Jeo, a senior consultant at Advanta Solutions, Inc. to the chapter on Development Methodologies. Muliadi wrote much of the code in the Fusebox example application presented in this chapter.—Leon Chalnick

If anyone were to tell me a year ago that I would be an author, I'd think they were crazy! One thing I know for sure is if it weren't for all the great people I've worked with over the last year, I wouldn't be writing this today. Certainly, if it were not for the help and encouragement of Wojciech Miskiweicz in my earliest days with Dreamweaver, I'd probably have given up and found another career. Thank you Wojciech! Daniel Short, Massimo Foti, Danilo Celic, Brad Halstead, Ray West, Paul R. Boon, Murray R. Summers, Trent Pastrana, Jay A. Grantham and Joseph Lowery, you've helped and inspired me more than you'll ever know and I am eternally thankful. There are too many DreamweaverFAQ.com tutorial authors to name you all , but I do want you to know I appreciate each and every one of you. To my wonderful husband Ambrogio, thank you for your incredible patience, understanding and for taking care of our adorable little Gaetano as I work on all my projects. I love you honey! Mom and Dad, if it weren't for your constant help and support I don't know what I'd do or where I'd be. Thank you for everything.—Angela C. Buraglia
