Lesson 1. Understanding ColdFusion > Installing Coldfusion Server

Installing Coldfusion Server

Now that you have Personal Web Server in place, you're ready to install ColdFusion Server. ColdFusion Server is the guts of ColdFusion. Without it, the pages you create will not work.

NOTE

There are three versions of ColdFusion Server: Enterprise, Professional, and Single IP. Each of these versions offers a different level of service, with Enterprise being the most feature-rich and expensive. The Professional version lacks some of the advanced features of Enterprise, but weighs in at a fraction of the cost. The single-user version, which we will be working with here, offers all features but works with only one user: you. When you install the server, it is installed as the Enterprise version. After 30 days, unless you purchase a license from Macromedia, it reverts to single-user mode.
