Chapter 19. Apache Modules > mod_log_referer

19.28. mod_log_referer

The mod_log_referer module allows administrators to configure information on referer logs. A referer is an outside document that references other documents on your server.

RefererIgnore

RefererIgnore string ...

[server config, or within <VirtualHost>]

Specifies one or more strings to ignore in the referer headers. If it is encountered, no information is written to the referer log.

RefererLog

RefererLog filename|pipe-command

[server config, or within <VirtualHost>]

Specifies the location of the referer log file. It may be specified either as an absolute path or as a relative path from the ServerRoot directory. All referer headers are logged at this location. The default is:

RefererLog logs/referer_log

If you wish, you can specify a pipe (|) followed by a shell command in place of the filename; this program runs as the user that started the httpd server and receives the log information as standard input.
