The Dreamweaver MX Interface, In Depth

Dreamweaver has so many tools and features it's unlikely that you'll use all of them for every site. Some you might not ever need at all, particularly if you're an advanced Web developer. However, knowing what's available in Dreamweaver will help you customize your workspace to put frequently used tools within easy reach as you remove extraneous toolbars and panels from view. After you know what features are available and how they work, you can then begin adding content to pages and putting those tools to work for you.

Workspace Layouts

If you're using Windows, your first decision is choosing a workspace layout. When you installed Dreamweaver, you were prompted to select an initial Workspace Setup (see Figure 5.1). Regardless of whether you chose the Designer or Coder workspace, Dreamweaver allows you to change your workspace at any time to meet the development style of the project you are working on.
