Chapter 3. Introducing the MX Interface > Main Menu Bar and Toolbar

Main Menu Bar and Toolbar

A main menu bar and toolbar at the top of the screen—as well as options for opening files, cutting and pasting, or printing—are common to a wide variety of desktop applications. (The main toolbar is not displayed in Flash by default, but is accessible via Window, Toolbars, Main.)

It can be hard to predict, for instance, where different applications will put dialogs for preferences or customizing keyboard shortcuts. It's handy to know that they will always be at the bottom of the Edit menu in Studio MX in Windows and on the menu with the application name (e.g. the Flash menu in Flash) on the Mac.
