Using Lists on Your Web Page

List elements, just as with paragraphs and preformatted text, are XHTML container elements that can accept other markup within their boundaries. XHTML lists require at least two elements, one that defines the type of list and one to contain each item within the list. Those contained items can be words, sentences, paragraphs, or other XHTML elements, such as images.

Most XHTML lists follow this format:
