Part III: Building Your Site > Site-Wide Styles: Design, Accessibility, and Int...

Chapter 14. Site-Wide Styles: Design, Accessibility, and Internationalization

IN THIS CHAPTER

  • Building and implementing a site-wide style sheet

  • Working with accessibility styles to further the goals of your style sheet

  • Special international considerations, such as dealing with different languages on the page and changing the direction of text

Chapter 10, “Get Splashy: Style Sheets, Fonts, and Special Characters,” introduced you to style sheets, including a number of the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) properties that you can use for designing individual pages. You also saw that it’s possible to link to an external style sheet— either one that you create or one of the standard sheets made available by the W3C. In this chapter, let’s look a little deeper into that site-wide style sheet concept. You’ll also take a look at some additional style sheet properties to alter the table elements that you may have opted to use when designing your pages.
