Summary

In this chapter, you learned how URLs are built and how they work together with the <base> and <a> anchor elements to make hyperlinks possible. You saw how to create hyperlinks that lead to outside Web sites, how to link to parts of a particular Web page, and how to use images as hyperlinks. Beyond that, you saw how to create hyperlinks to various types of Internet resources, as well as how to manage some automatic link-related tasks.

In the next chapter, you’ll learn the basic XHTML table elements, which allow you to place data visually in rows and columns. You’ll also see how to create the table and change its appearance using the <table> element and attributes.
