Summary

In this chapter, you learned some of the advanced techniques for using table elements to organize and lay out an entire page. You began with some theory—a look at the techniques involved in adding images to tables, using nested tables and grouping the columns and rows within your table so that they can be labeled and altered. Then, you saw how those techniques can all come together in some example table-based layouts, including one that focused on formatting rows and one that focused on creating columns on the page.

In the next chapter you’ll be introduced to style sheets, the modern approach to changing the look and feel of your pages.
