You’ve seen how to create forms, but we haven’t covered how to make those forms attractive. It takes a little thought and quite a bit of XHTML markup to make the form elements look good, logical, and interesting to your users—interesting enough that they dive in and use the form. In this section, let’s take a look at some approaches to designing useful forms.

Form Design Issues

Central to the idea of form design is making the form easy for users to understand so that they follow through and fill it out. The less incentive you give them to fill out the form, the less likely they are to try. A short, clean form is more likely to entice users than a long, confusing one.
