JavaScript and DHTML

JavaScript is often responsible for making a page dynamic and interactive, and (when integrated with CSS layers) enhances your ability to create pages with Dynamic HTML. As JavaScript is a client-side technology, JavaScript will always react to something the user has done, whether the user has clicked a link, loaded the page, or hovered the mouse over an image. JavaScript will never invoke on its own, only in response to some user event.

In addition, because JavaScript is client-side, it will execute instantaneously. As the code is interwoven in the HTML and downloaded with the page, the JavaScript action can execute in the browser without utilizing further server resources. As a result, the JavaScript action will occur without hesitation, as no server-side interaction is required to carry out the actions.
