Chapter 9. Working with Code > HTML Element Find & Replace

HTML Element Find & Replace

When searching for HTML tags, take advantage of the web-savvy Element tab to perform a more accurate search than with a simple Find & Replace. Because a standard text search is programmed to look for literal strings, it can only find exact matches. A standard Find & Replace, for example, in searching for the tag <body bgcolor="white"> would not find such a tag if it were missing quotation marks or had additional attributes such as <body text="black" bgcolor="white">. See how GoLive addresses this in Figure 9.13.

Figure 9.13. This Element tab of the Find & Replace window shows a search that’s going to find everything with a bgcolor of white and change it to blue.
