Inserting Java Applets

Often, developers will embed Java applets into their page. An applet is simply a small program that is downloaded by and executed within the browser, as opposed to a Java application, which is a whole standalone program and doesn’t require a browser. As soon as you start interacting with an applet, the computer does not need any other additional information to carry out the tasks at hand; the entire program is already accessible.

GoLive cannot write Java applets; it can only integrate an existing Java applet into the HTML page. If you don’t have a Java applet at hand, but want to learn how to integrate an applet into your page, check out the Internet. There are a number of great resources where an applet can be down-loaded and used for free. A good starting point is http://javaboutique.internet.com/.
