About Java and JavaScript

JavaScript and Java are both often used to enhance Web sites; however, the two languages actually have very little else in common. JavaScript is a scripting language that is executed within the user’s browser and interacts with HTML and Cascading Style Sheets. In fact, without HTML, JavaScript has no purpose.

Java, on the other hand, is a compiled programming language that can be programmed to do just about anything to which you set your mind. A complicated and deep language, Java is often used to write applications and programs. Java Servlets are small programs that run on the application server and return formatted HTML to the browser.
