Setting Up FTP and Internet Access

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may specify how you can connect to its server for security purposes. In particular, your ISP may require you to work in passive mode to avoid complications when working with a server behind a firewall, or your ISP may be using a proxy server. Your ISP (or Server Administrator) will be able to tell you whether it requires the use of passive mode or a proxy server. You, in turn, then specify how GoLive connects to the Internet.

To set up and customize your Internet Access, open Adobe GoLive and choose Edit, Preferences from the menu. Click the heading for Network to access the following options, shown in Figure 31.1:
