Chapter 31. Publishing Your Site > Publishing Overview

Publishing Overview

You probably have a good idea as to the final step of this process. Although you’ve built a fantastic Web site full of useful and pertinent information, the site is still stored only on your local machine (or on Adobe’s Web workgroup server) and is therefore available only to you and your team. You still have to publish the site to make it live and accessible to the public.

Publishing a site not only means placing the original files up on the Web for public access but also updating the site. Bear in mind that every time you make a change to the local site, you’ll want to publish that change to the server as well.
