The Palettes

What Adobe GoLive terms Palettes, as the name colorfully suggests, are tools that display your options for creating on the Web canvas. Each palette covers a different aspect of the page designing process; therefore, some are absolutely essential to every page while others you may rarely find an occasion to use. It all depends on your own role in the project (whether you’re the graphic designer or the programming guru) and the work style that suits you best.

As with other Adobe applications, you can customize your workspace by re-arranging the palettes and grouping them as you see fit. Simply click on the tab of any palette and drag it to the desired location. You can place a palette alone or drag it on top of another palette to combine them. In addition, the palette windows may be docked: Grab onto the palette edges and drag them nearer to each other, and they automatically align vertically or horizontally and click together to form a panel of palettes. Like any window, you can resize them by dragging the lower-right corner, or roll them up like a window shade by double-clicking on the top bar.
