Brian Dunning would like to thank our friend Lloyd Black, who was our original acquisitions editor on this project but did not have the opportunity to see it through to its thrilling climax.

To Patrick Rigney of Evocative, who came through just at that moment when he was needed most.

A third most special thanks to the folks at Adobe, for creating such great products; not only GoLive, but all the rest in their fine stable. We’re certainly not the first to express this appreciation, as most of the civilized world relies heavily on San Jose’s finest.

A second most special thanks to my very good friend Bill Doerrfeld, president and CEO of Blue World Communications, without whose input this project would never have left the ground.

But the biggest thanks can go to none other than my wife Lisa and kids Andrew and Erika, who put up with an abbreviated dadless family for much too long, and deserve all of the credit for my contribution to this volume. Until you’ve tackled a project of this size, your perception of “perseverance” is only a shadow of the real thing. And once you have, it’s still nothing compared to what your family goes through. Thanks crew!

Allyson Knox would like to thank: Brian & Lisa, my parents & the entire Ryan-Alex clan, Zen dog Eddie Boyle and the gang at Half Price Books, Cory Zerwas, Chris Moyer, Pete Mayers, Noah Polk, The Old 97’s, Josh Joplin Group, Colby Falk, Erik Dunn, Bill Duncan, Jimmy McConnell, everyone at Davis-Kidd Booksellers, Stephanie Marks-Ryan, Michael Parrish, Acuity Marketing, Paula Southgate, Nashville Creative Forum, Jeff & Todd at CDS, everyone at Adobe & Que Publishing, Jimmy Stewart, Dr. Seuss, and the SETI at home project. This book is dedicated to the memory of Michael Brandon.

Lori Becker would like to thank: first and foremost my parents, who believe in everything I do; Glenn Fleishman, the e-friend I had without knowing it; my fantastic colleagues (friends and teachers) at WestLake Internet Training; all those who kept me company late nights (both in thought and in practice); and last, but not least, Oscar.
