Chapter 7. VECTOR MEMBERS > DID YOU KNOW?

DID YOU KNOW?

  • You can change the fill color of a vector shape member as a sprite on the Stage. Just take a filled vector shape, place it on the Stage, and use the foreground color chip in the Tool palette. You can also tween the fill color over a series of frames. You cannot, however, change the line color.

  • You can greatly improve the performance of Director movies that use large Flash members by setting Flash sprites to Copy ink, rather than Background Transparent. Try as hard as you can to use other inks besides Copy only when absolutely necessary.

  • You can apply patterns to standard shape members but not to bitmaps or vector shapes. Just select the shape sprite and use the pattern chip in the Director Tool palette to set a pattern.
